Jamaica Village – Ghana. Was established in October 2007 by the Jamaican born Abacha family. It was established as a “symbol of reconnection with ancestral roots” Jamaica Village Plantation is currently a ‘work in progress vision.
The purpose for its establishment is to reminisce “ ah likkle piece ah de Island inna de Continent”. It’s aim is to highlight some aspects of the Jamaican Culture. It is a typical Plantation- style Village hosting a wide variety of fruit trees such as Ackee, breadfruit, tamarind soursop, etc also medicinal and culinary herbs e.g. Turmeric, rosemary, thyme etc.
Our Monthly Events; “Jamaica Sinting” a monthly event, is held the last weekend of each month on the Plantation.The event features a variety of ITAL ( vegan)!cuisine seasoned with flavour of the Caribbean. Egg and dairy free cakes and pastries are available, including Jamaica treats such as bulla, gizzada, sweet potato pudding. A range of fresh, seasonal , natural juices e.g. Soursop, tamarind , peanut punch and herbal ice.
The Plantation Village is located in the Eastern Region of Ghana on the peak of the Akuapem Mountains. It is situated in the quaint Village called Apirede.it approximately one and a half hours drive from Accra.
