The legendary Jamaican sprinter’s first visit to the Motherland. Asafa Powell and wife arrived in Ghana yesterday. They received a massive warm welcome by his fellow Jamaicans and Ghanaians. The Jamaican flag proudly represented the champion and brand Jamaica.
Asafa’s visit is intended to inspire, motivate and promote the development of athletics, and the interest of youths in the sports. Further to strengthen ties between Ghana and Jamaica relations.
The GOC he’s scheduled to visit various sports clinics, Senior and Junior High schools as well as all sports facilities under construction for the next African Games and linking with the Jamaican community.
